Keep a team roster ready for the season
Add group members, review the roster, and check readiness without confusing membership with an assignment.

A team roster and a serving schedule do different jobs
The roster tells you who belongs to the group. An activity assignment tells you who is serving in a particular role on a particular date. You'll work with both when preparing a season.
For example, adding someone to the welcome team doesn't assign them to every Friday night. They still need the appropriate serving commitments.
Open Groups, choose the team, and select Members to see its roster. Available management actions depend on your access to that group.
Add the people who belong on this team
- Open the group's Members section and choose Add members.
- Search the active people who already belong to the organization.
- Select the people to add and review the group role, such as Member, Facilitator, Co-leader, or Leader.
- Save your selection and check the updated roster.
If the person hasn't joined the organization, use the invitation option available to you. The People guide explains volunteer invitations. Where Invite by email is offered in the group, the person joins that group as a member when they accept.
Choose a leadership role deliberately. A person's place on the roster should reflect the responsibility they actually have in the group.
Review the team in its season
In Calendar → Seasons, open the season's Teams section. Use View roster to check the members, leaders, and current readiness status.
Adding members doesn't mark the team ready. Review its serving needs and coverage, then use Mark ready when you've completed the review. If the team needs more work, use Mark not ready.
Pay attention to a notice that coverage has changed since review. A team can have been marked ready before a volunteer declined or another part of the schedule changed.
Follow through on open roles
Check the season's coverage and the calendar's Needs Attention area for unresolved requests and offers available to your account. Team leaders may instead be directed to their team's coverage view.
Look at the actual assignments before deciding a gap is filled. A healthy roster gives you people to ask, but the schedule still needs the right person confirmed for each required role.
