Find activities and check your schedule
Use Calendar to browse activities and My Schedule to check your own serving dates and requests.
For everyone
These steps use the Beacon website unless the iPhone app is mentioned.
In this guide
Choose the view you need
After selecting your organization, open the Calendar menu. Choose its Calendar section to browse activities, or My Schedule for your own serving dates, roles, and requests.
These views answer different questions. An activity can appear on the calendar without you being assigned to it. My Schedule is the place to check whether you have a role to serve or a request to answer.
Calendar access comes from your organization access. A sponsorship profile by itself does not give you access to every organization’s activities.
Find a date or activity
- Choose Month, Week, or Agenda from the calendar view selector.
- Use the previous and next arrows to move through dates, or choose Today to come back.
- Open the filter control if you want to narrow the calendar by season, team, or your commitments.
- Open an activity to check its details.
Check the time zone shown by the calendar, especially if you are traveling or helping an organization in another area. Review the location and any instructions on the activity itself before making plans.
Check what you are scheduled to do
In My Schedule, open an assignment to review the role, serving time, and current status. A request awaiting your response is not the same as an accepted assignment. Use the actions offered on that request to respond.
If you can no longer serve an accepted assignment, open its details and use the coverage options available to you or contact your scheduler. Adding time off does not remove an existing assignment.
Group pages are another way to find upcoming activities for a particular team. Open Groups, select the group, and choose Activities.
If an activity seems to be missing
Check the selected organization, date range, and filters first. A filter such as My commitments can hide activities where you have no assignment.
If you still cannot find an activity you expected, ask the organizer or scheduler to check its details and your access. For the latest status of your own assignment, check Beacon directly; a connected personal calendar may take time to refresh.
